THE SPIRITUAL DAY

■ EVENING AND THE MORNING - THE NEXT DAY ■

In Genesis 1:31 KJV, it is written,
And God saw every thing that he had made,
and, behold, it was very good.
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

From this passage of Scripture we can extract these truths:
   1. A day is defined by two parameters:
- The paired sequence of the evening and the morning identify a day in our Physical and Spiritual dispensation.

   2. The order is deliberate:
- This order is not incidental or a wrong interpretation of scripture but is a consistent spiritual formula used to delimit & delineate the day for the profiting of God's Kingdom minded people.
- The order & scriptural description in this passage of evening to morning is not random but purposeful.
- The passage doesn't say “the morning and the evening” but “the evening and the morning.”
This connotes that the evening comes first and the morning follows "always".
Together, this order constitutes one complete day in the Spiritual realm.

   3. Implication for when a day begins:
A Spiritual day commences at evening & concludes after the morning is complete. The completion of both cylces marked “the sixth day” as a whole day.

   4. What the passage does not say:
Based strictly on the verse of scripture:
- It does not define a day as beginning at sunrise.
- It does not define a day as beginning at midnight.
- It does not isolate daylight hours as the day.
Instead, the day is framed as a cycle starting with evening & moving toward morning.

   5. Implication of this New Creation Reality:

In John 9:4-5 KJV, it is written,
    4. I must work the works of him that sent me,
while it is day:
the night cometh, when no man can work.
   5. As long as I am in the world,
I am the light of the world.

 - The implication of this New Creation Reality of the day commencing in the evening and ending in the morning is that we must consciously do the works of God that sent us not just while it is day but we must commence in at night and complete it at the close of the morning and not the reverse that we have been though.

   6. Examples of our use of the New Creation Reality Spiritual day:
These are a few examples of what we should be doing during the New Creation Reality Spiritual day:

Psalm 63:6
On my bed I remember you; I
think of you through the watches of the night.

Psalm 119:147-148
   147. I rise before dawn and cry for help;
I have put my hope in your word.
   148. My eyes stay open through the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promises.

Lamentations 2:19 NIV
Arise, cry out in the night,
as the watches of the night begin;
pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord.
Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children,
who faint from hunger at every street corner.

   7. Note:
We often hear that evil people work at night 🌙.
Now we can appreciate the reason why they do
Spiritual growth and power has been ordained in the Spiritual
to commence from the womb of the day, which is the evening
With our knowledge of this we can also appreciate the disadvantage disservice our personal choice of not availing ourselves of this New Creation Reality puts us in.
● Please NOTE that it is only by SACRIFICE that we can participate in the New Creation Realities of the Spiritual World we are called to live by, in Christ Jesus.
Our flesh, Sin, the devil and indeed the broken systems of this present world will fight the truths of the Spiritual realm we were ordained to operate in.

   8. Personal Testimony:
Since God called me to relate with Him and His life-giving WORD by SACRIFICE through the watches of the night and early hours of the morning, so I can remain focused on Him and be at the centre of His will throughout the day, it has been a Spiritual eye opener and an avenue to increase in Spiritual & indeed Physical Wisdom, Power & Strength, to the point that some most things I think about, do and write on are so mind-blowing that I know without a doubt that they didn't originate from me and as a result, I have entered a realm of consistent thanksgiving to God Almighty.

In Conclusion, (from the passage alone)
Genesis 1:31 connotes that:
- The biblical & Spiritual “day” we are called to operate in is bounded by evening & morning.
- Evening initiates the day & Morning completes it.
- and for us to behold or experience God's Dominion in everything we do as God did, being very good at the end of each day, we also must work according to God's dispensation of time.

Shalom
